Compromising: Love Your Relationship, Love Your Mate

Everyone knows that you have to compromise in any relationship, but how one goes about compromising is the question. Is it simply that you give in because you shy away from conflict or an argument ensued, making it a win-lose situation? Or, do you talk about the situation and come to a decision where both of you get satisfied in some way... making it a win-win? There are many ways we compromise in relationships and compromise doesn't mean that you have to lose every time.

When two people respect each other, they are honoring their rights as human beings. If one usually feels slighted and discontent with the outcome, then someone is taking advantage, while the other is being disrespected and not standing up for themselves. On occasion, there are always going to be two points-of-view in every relationship. How the conflict gets handled is what makes all the difference.

First and foremost, talk... not yell, criticize, or belittle... talk. Each one tells their side of the story, and then, with an open mind, both of you figure out how to make it work.

For instance, one of you enjoys going out with friends, while the other is more of a home-body or has other interests. That's okay! Figure out what works so both of you can have what you want. Make a plan: the one spends time with friends on Fridays, while Saturdays are always date-night. Neither of you get exactly what you want, but you can be happy with the outcome because your mate was willing to compromise. No one had to lose. Other issues could be how one of you spends money, cleans, drives, or even how you argue. Once again, talk and make a plan!

People just feel better when they know that they have been heard and that there is empathy for their position. No one likes to feel that they don't matter. Keep this in mind each and every time you are faced with an issue and you will become a better person, a better mate, and a better friend. As the golden rule tells us, treat others as you want to be treated. That rule has been around for a long, long time...and there's a good reason for it.

Issues are never resolved until both of you make a vow to respect and value the other person...in their time, their values, and in life.

The game of dating-relationship - ladies, are compromising us our morals for good of men?

Ladies, what are the rules and regulations of the dating game for us? I think that this issue is a major problem in the dating with respect to women. We do regulations and rules clear when we are dating? Again we have rules or expectations when dating? Naturally enter us places of meeting with our dreams, in the hope of them becomes our reality? Perhaps that we do not share or discuss expectations dating fear of rejection; but we still want the men to play the game in our favor. I think that we lose in the game of dating/relationship. We change our beliefs, lifestyles and goals to the expectations of our "companions of forward-looking." We have compromised our moral character just for the sake of one day having a significant relationship. Our education, society and low self-esteem are major stakeholders in the reason for women to engage and the maintenance of unhealthy relationships.

Ladies, do you think that we are compromising our morals in the expectation of a loving and committed relationship? We believe something if we lower our standards, the human will to the opportunity. In dating, why we would have a child; but the man did not speak of marriage? Therefore, expect us to love and support a child; but he is not ready to love and support you before God? In dating, why would we him cooking, clean her house and wash his clothes; but you are not his wife? Remember, if it is already in place all the benefits of a married man, why he would commit to you? When dating, why would you accept a "open relationships". but, you know you want to get married? Remember, if the man can do all that he needs free, why he had to purchase a license for you? In dating, why would you pray for a man of God; but think you will find him on the "club scene"? Remember, according to the word of God, he is the man you find (Proverbs 18: 22).

Now, I realize that, by the standards of the world, of my "food for thought" is old and does not fit in much of today's standards for dating. Really, it is one of the reason that so many women is unhappy in the relationship. Also, I am aware that some women want committed relationship; but we all have an innate character in need for love. Therefore, I believing all women eventually want someone to be involved in his love. If we get the standards of God concerning dating, we will have the results according to God. We can never engage in immoral expectations and acts; but to expect accurate results. Ladies, study and meditate on the word of God and know his expectations by having a relationship with you; and then, you will find what your expectations should be in relationship to others (mark 12: 30-31). God is not "strings attached" regarding his love for us, so we wouldn't have to compromise our beliefs or standards to receive the love of others (John 3: 16). God loves unconditionally and we should seek relationships in which we can receive love as well. Set the standards of God in our relationship when dating and stick to it. We must stop the total contributions prior commitments. Ladies, I pray that everyone gets to know the love of God; to understand the importance of love others and learn to love themselves (1 John 4: 7).

The Dating-Relationship Game - Ladies, Are We Compromising Our Morals For Men's Sake?

Ladies, what are the rules and regulations in the dating game for us? I think that this question is a major problem in dating concerning women. Do we make the rules and regulations clear when we are dating? Do we even have any rules or expectations when dating? Do we just naturally enter the dating scene with our dreams in hopes of them becoming our reality? Maybe we do not share or discuss dating expectations out of fear of rejection; but we still want the men to play the game in our favor. I think we are losing ourselves in the dating/relationship game. We are changing our beliefs, lifestyles and goals to the expectations of our "prospective mates". We have compromised our morals all for the sake of one day having a meaningful relationship. Our upbringings, society, and low self esteem are major players in the reason for women engaging and holding on to unhealthy relationships.

Ladies, do you think we are compromising our morals in hopes of getting a loving, committed relationship? Do we somehow believe if we lower our standards, the man will rise to the occasion. When dating, why would we agree to have a child; but, the man has not mentioned marriage? So, are we expecting him to love and support a child; but, he is not willing to love and support you before God? When dating, why would we cook him food, clean his home, and wash his clothes; but you are not his wife? Remember, if he is already getting all the benefits of a married man, why would he commit to you? When dating, why would you accept an "open relationships"; but, you know that you want to get married? Remember, if the man can get everything he needs free, why would he purchase a license for you? When dating, why would you pray for a godly man; but think you will find him on the "club scene"? Remember, according to the Word of God, it is the man's job to find you (Proverbs 18:22).

Now, I realize that according to the world's standards, my "food for thought" is old-fashioned and does not fit in with much of today's standards concerning dating. Really, that is one of the reason so many women are unhappy in relationships. I also realize that some women do not want committed relationship; but we all have an innate character to need love. So, I believer every woman will eventually want someone to be committed to loving her. If we get back to God's standards concerning dating, we will get godly results. We can never engage in immoral expectations and acts; but, expect righteous results. Ladies, study and meditate on God's Word and find out what His expectations are in having a relationship with you; and then you will find out what your expectations should be in having a relationship with others (Mark 12:30-31). God does not have "strings attached" concerning His love for us, so we should not have to compromise our beliefs or standards to receive love from others (John 3:16). God loves us unconditionally and we should seek relationships in which we can receive love as well. Set God's standards in our relationships when dating and stick to it. We need to stop making total contributions before the commitments. Ladies, I pray that everyone gets to know the love of God; to understand the importance of loving others and learn to love themselves (1 John 4:7).
